If the job was all candy and nuts I could say perhaps a pastor does not need a vacation. Not having pastored I can only say from what I have observed from the sidelines. It's a tough job! It is certainly one of the toughest jobs in the world. As a HR Manager by profession I fully understand the need for all people to have some time away from the job. I have also seen compensation packages for pastors from different denominations. Some were good and comparable to secular employment. But most were inadequate. Most fall far short of what persons employed in secular work would expect.
Every pastor needs to recharge from time to time. You must do this.
