Today's Quote
"You must love those you lead before you can be an effective leader. You can certainly command without that sense of commitment, but you cannot lead without it. And without leadership, command is a hollow experience, a vacuum often filled with mistrust and arrogance." - Eric K. Shinseki
Advent
The Latin word "adventus" is the translation of the Greek word "parousia," most commonly used in reference to the 2nd coming of Christ.
Advent starts each year on the 4th Sunday before December 25th.
Christians believe the season of Advent has a dual purpose. It serves as a reminder of the original waiting that was done by the Hebrew people as they longed for Messiah.
It also reminds us of the waiting Christians endure today as they anticipate the 2nd coming of Christ.
During Advent, Christians often prepare for the 2nd coming by commemorating the 1st coming of Christ at Christmas. Advent helps us direct our thoughts to remember the first coming of Jesus as Saviour, and his second coming as Judge.
Jesus is coming.
